Meet

Alec Robinson

U.S. Marine

Project Delta, Co-Founder/CMO

Luminox has an authentic connection to the US Military that goes back to the very beginning of our brand. In 1992 Navy SEAL Nick North was tasked with finding a watch brand durable enough and highly legible for the SEAL’s night and underwater missions. Now for over 30 years, Luminox honors its beginning by maintaining deep connections to the nation’s servicemen.

We recently caught up with Alec Robinson, a Volition America ambassador and fan of Luminox, learning his personal story and what Luminox and Volition America means to him.

A career in the military was always in the cards for Alec Robinson. His family history tracing all the way back to his great grandfather is defined by service to country from Mexican Border War to WWI and WWII to his own career in the US Marine Corp, Alec knew he was predetermined to serve his country as he says, “The military runs deep in my family".

During his time in the marines Alec was attached to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as a weapons specialist. His exceptional training provided him with a broad range of weapon systems expertise from M4's to wire guided missiles. Alec remembers, “I worked with incredible people and was lucky enough to get my hands on basically every weapon system you could think of.” And the discipline of this experience carries through now almost 10 years later. He now dedicates his life to serving others working with veterans, first responders and law enforcement officers is at the forefront of his life.

Now living in St. Paul Minnesota, Alec maintains his dedication to military service and has parlayed this passion into non-profit work founding Project Delta.

Alec explains, “Project Delta’s mission is to rescue shelter dogs and pair them with veterans, first responders and law enforcement officers and train them to become certified service dog teams to combat and lessen the impact of PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Military Sexual Trauma. We also have added a new development to our organization placing full time facility dogs in Police Departments to try and take a proactive approach to PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse and Suicide. The inspiration behind Project Delta wasn't exactly one thing.

One being how devastating these issues are in the veteran community and the lack of
resources. Not to mention [sic] how overwhelmed dog rescues are in the United States and the fact that I, myself have PTSD and a Traumatic Brain Injury. My family's love for country and dogs and finding the best way we can merge those two loves together. We wanted to do our part. Plain and simple.” Project Delta makes a difference by not only training service dogs, but training and supporting the animal’s new owner.

Alec lives to make a difference every day and has dedicated his live to the service of others. Alec first connected with Volition America through Folds of Honor, and he enthused, “I was beyond excited when the [sic] team of Volition America reached out to me and told me their story, mission, and the incredible companies they had backing
this mission they've taken on. I love America.

Without question those who live here landed the lottery. We are afforded the opportunity to create the life we so choose, that in itself is an invaluable gift.”

By the way, Alec wore Luminox during his time with the Marines. Luminox is proud to have you in our family, Alec, and we applaud your work with Volition America and Project Delta.

The country could use more men like you.
